this refered to a different comment about P2s and P2 cro-mo. anyway this was all just a bit of fun pinkbike ripping which we all resolved and got over over a year ago. we also grew up a bit over a year ago pleese stop gravedigging!

i wasnt actually quoting it from anywhere, i just dont like the term freeride so i was distancing myself from the use of it but it is designed for a bit of everything.

i can say with complete certainty that specialized did not consider atall the geometry to be nice for xc. if anything the frames are the thing that is specific to dirt jumping (in terms of design) wheras you will find similar components on various types of bikes. They can be used for xc and trail riding and i know someone who did use a white p2 chro-mo for just that and rode it well. Yes the P.3 is part of the same range but it is a completly different design and according to specialized it is intended for a different style of riding.

actually i think it was the first year of the P.3 but you cant really compare it to the P.1 and P.2 cause it is a very different frame designed for "freeride" rather than the others that are 100% designed for dirt jumps.

haha uber gravedigging here! the p.grom and P.3 didnt even exist back when this photo was uploaded and the discussion took place! i was aware that the P.1 and P.2 cro-mo were the same frame but there was a significant price difference. also im pretty sure the P.1 has always been a cro-mo frame so no need to specify there!

meh this bike is all about being functional and this seat is big and comfey to land on if i need to and i can pinch it for barspins, i do have an old spare sdg bel air but the bike feels better with this one.

any suggestions? cause it needs to be pinch-able, or is it just cause its a little scruffy?

lol i dont think its a big problem or anything with them in general cause ive got one on my hardtail thats been goin a couple of years and im just gona replace this one with another pro 2. it was just a hard bumpy landing on a very cold day that did it. all i can say is be kind to your stuff when its cold.

the takeoff is only a little bit bigger than the ones on the red freeride but the landing is massive and you can take so much speed at it. great for learning stuff on
